Storage Blackwall Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Blackwall in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the actions we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Blackwall is committed to acting ethically, responsibly, and with integrity in all business relationships.
Our Organisation and Supply Chains
Storage Blackwall provides storage and related services to customers across a range of sectors. Our supply chains include facilities management, construction and fit-out contractors, security and cleaning providers, IT and technology suppliers, and various professional services. We recognise that some segments of these supply chains may be exposed to higher risks of modern slavery, especially where low-skilled or outsourced labour is used.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Storage Blackwall has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation. We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, contractors, and business partners. Any involvement in or failure to address modern slavery practices is treated as a serious breach of our standards and may result in the termination of business relationships and further action where appropriate.
Policies and Governance
Our approach to modern slavery is supported by internal policies on ethics, whistleblowing, recruitment, and supplier management. These policies are communicated to relevant staff, who are required to act in accordance with them at all times. Senior management is responsible for overseeing the effectiveness of our measures to prevent modern slavery and for ensuring that the issue remains a priority within our governance framework.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are committed to engaging only with suppliers and contractors who share our values and comply with applicable labour and human rights laws. As part of our due diligence, Storage Blackwall assesses the risk profile of key suppliers based on sector, geography, and type of services provided. Where appropriate, we require suppliers to confirm their own measures to prevent modern slavery and to flow down equivalent standards to their subcontractors.
Storage Blackwall may conduct audits or request information from suppliers to verify compliance with our modern slavery expectations. These audits may include reviewing employment practices, worker documentation, subcontracting arrangements, and evidence of training and grievance mechanisms. Where non-compliance is identified, we work with suppliers to address issues through corrective action plans, or, where necessary, we may suspend or end the relationship.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that awareness and understanding are essential to effectively combat modern slavery. Storage Blackwall provides relevant staff with information and guidance on identifying signs of modern slavery, particularly in procurement, facilities management, and contractor oversight roles. We aim to ensure that our people are capable of recognising risk indicators and know how to respond appropriately.
Reporting Channels and Protection
Storage Blackwall encourages employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions regarding modern slavery or unethical practices in our operations or supply chains. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels or through established whistleblowing procedures. Reports may be made confidentially, and we do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise genuine concerns in good faith.
All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly and sensitively. Where appropriate, Storage Blackwall will work with relevant authorities or external specialists to address identified risks or incidents.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Blackwall is committed to continually improving its approach to preventing modern slavery. We regularly review our policies, risk assessments, and supplier management practices to strengthen our controls and respond to evolving risks. Lessons learned from audits, investigations, and industry developments inform our ongoing improvements.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed and updated at least annually to reflect our current activities and planned initiatives. It has been approved by the leadership of Storage Blackwall, who are responsible for ensuring its implementation across the organisation.
Signed on behalf of Storage Blackwall.
